The Rockin' Billies
In late 2007 Mike formed a rock-a-billy band called "Mike Cadillac And The Rockin' 88's". This new band, who have already appeared on the East Coast Music Awards (ECMA) "Discovery Stage", was nominated for the CBC "Galaxie Rising Star" Award in 2008. They also appeared in Collingwood, Ontario for the world's largest Elvis Tribute Artist Festival on "The Sirius Satellite Canadian Pride Showcase" Stage. They have also opened for "The Freightliners" at the 2008 Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
Known now as "The Rockin' Billies", this band performs original rock-a-billy tunes as well many of the great songs from the SUN record label. They have incorporated those classic guitar riffs that made Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Jerry lee Lewis, Scotty Moore, Elvis, Buddy Holly and so many others household names. It's hard to hear authentic rock-a-billy these days because few know how to handle a guitar like Scotty Moore, or Carl Perkins did. Imagine 4 young men discovering a passion to play that music, working hard to replicate that "feeling" yet a desire consumes them to make it fresh and win a whole new generation of fans.
